Shining Moments
Celebrating Seniors and Making Dreams Come True

This summer has been a very busy one for all of us at Twilight Wish. Our chapters and the staff here at headquarters have granted some amazing wishes, bringing our total granted since 2003 to 2,324! One of the most incredible wishes granted was sending Mae Krier, an original "Rosie the Riveter" to the annual Rosie reunion in California. Mae has been a media darling and even acknowledged by Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for her wartime service. In addition, Fitzpatrick was so moved by Mae and her story that he is backing House Resolution 313 which would designate May 23rd as National Rosie the Riveter Day.

In other wish granting news, our New Hampshire chapter granted their very first wish: Meda celebrated her 92nd birthday in a big way! Meda is a huge Red Sox fan and her wish was to meet Dustin Pedroia. Not only did the Red Sox arrange for her to meet Pedroia, but Meda also was treated to a tour of Fenway, attended pregame batting practice and had her baseball signed by Pedroia.  To see more of the wishes granted recently, visit our website.

Finally, we are so grateful to the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority (BCW&S) for choosing Twilight Wish as one of the two beneficiaries of their recent golf outing. Their board of directors presented a check to us for over $18,000 on July 27th. It is because of the generosity of donors like them that we are able to continue making our world a nicer place to age, one wish at a time!

None of the wishes we grant would be possible without the ongoing support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff and board.  Thank you for your support and compassion for our "Greatest Generation." To donate to any of our open wishes, click here.

Sincerely,

Cass Forkin

Founder & Chairman of the Board
